Just To Write

I was contacted by a pastor at my church this week to see if I'd be interested in reading a prayer at Sunday's service.  If I wanted to I even could rework/rewrite the petition.   It felt like an encouragement to come back to church, maybe an opportunity to give formal Sunday service another go.

So I agreed.  I rewrote a portion of the prayer and sent it back in. 

It feels so great to write.  To write something that is going to be seen beyond my computer screen.  Heard beyond my own thoughts.

Sitting and writing.  Getting feedback.  It makes me nervous and really excited.  I really enjoy writing.  Even more, I enjoy sharing it with others.  Not for recognition.  But just to share.   I just don't do it enough.

I've decided that I am going to pick a day a week, and then try to sit and write that day.  Write a blog post, a poem, a prayer... a chapter for a book.  Just to write.
