I Have a Dream

We all have dreams.  We have dreams for our futures.  Dreams of our pasts.  Dreams in our sleep.  Dreams in the day.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day here in the United States.  An important man in American History. Many people are familiar with the I Have A Dream Speech he gave on August 28, 1963.  Here are a few excerpts:

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."...
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today...
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together...

We all have dreams.  Some are hard to share, some we don't know we have until they come true.  While it's hard to share all of our dreams with others, we can share a few...

I have a dream...

... that one day all children will have equal opportunities in education.

... that the poor in wealth will be made rich in life.

... that one day everyone will learn that they are special, that they are perfect just the way they are.  That there is no need to change for anyone but yourself.

... that the youth of today, who are destined to be the leaders of tomorrow, learn to understand and appreciate other people.  Other cultures.  Other points of view.

... that the hopes and dreams I have for my life will one day come true.

... that one day the dances of our individual lives create a collective ballet like no other.  That together we create a beautiful masterpiece.  Rather than tearing each other down, let us build each other up.  When one falls, may we lend a hand.  When a person's music begins to fade, may another pick up the beat.

... that I will live my best life.

I have a dream.

What's your dream?
