Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?
I went to dinner with one of my relatives last week. We had a great time. And I could tell that there was something different about them. They were so much happier than the last time I had seen them. It was as if they had shed the sadness, anxiety and hurt that had been weighing them down. Their happiness, was contagious. Granted, I wasn't unhappy, but it was so great to see the happiness radiating from their face.
That made me think of the saying about attitudes being contagious. How often do I use that very thought in classrooms I go into. If material seems boring, or its Monday and kids are tired I change my attitude (sometimes I amp it up) and the students see it. They begin to model your attitude. This happens so often in life.
Our attitudes are like the clothes we put on, right there for people to see. So make it a great outfit. A beautiful, bright, clean outfit. One that others will want to emulate. Make your attitude worth catching.
Thanks, this boosted my day!
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right. Attitudes do wear off, and it's easy to get pulled into a bad one sometimes if you're not careful.
